    Characteristics: 

    Perennial shrub 3-4 m tall, with compound leaves, up to 75 cm long, with 8-10 lobules.

    The yellow fragrant flowers appear intocapitula that are associated into very ramified and dense panicles measuring up to 1 m long.

    History and curiosities: 

    The scientific name, Montanoa heracleifolia, consists of the genus name Montanoa, dedicated to the Mexican botanist and politician Luis Montaña (1755-1820), and the term heracleifolia, formed by the genus name Heracleum and the Latin word folia, “leaf”, alluding the resemblance of the leaves to Heracleum genus leaves.
